The names and terms: 'Jennifer Laude', 'transgender', John Pemberton and the 'Visiting Forces Agreement' (VFA) have recently come to fruition. These terms include issues related to Pemberton's disgust with Laude and the unfair treatment of Filipinos belonging to third sex or those subject to LGBT or Lesbians, Gay Bisexuals and Transgenders. While such issues may seem political, discussing and legitimizing such events is especially important for today's youth.
Based on the latest study released by Dr. Elmer G. De Jose of the Polytechnic University of the Philippines, appearing in three out of ten Filipino youth or 28 percent with same-sex views. Most of these are young men from the age of 15-18. Nowadays, many young men 'women' are not 'exposed' and admit that they are gay (lesbian) or lesbian (bully). This is confirmed by the 2002 Young Adult Fertility and Sexuality Survey in which 11 percent of 'sexually active' Filipinos are homosexuals. These data seem to indicate that discussion of various aspects of homosexuality is important in the context of 'gender sensitivity' in our society.
One of the strongest recommendations by the Commission of Human Rights is to prevent some of the citizens from calling 'Hate Crime' the Laude case. Here the agency must control the 'Hate and Discriminatory Posts' of some of the negative notices in this case. To be fair, controlling for these kinds of negative criticisms is one of the fundamental aspects when it comes to issues of gender equality among teens.
